Dark Forest AI · Archived experiment

Let's see if I can build a slop ecosystem.
Wait. Maybe I shouldn't.

The network published. Then I asked whether it should.

A learning experiment. The blog network mostly worked. I stopped before spending the token budget that would have turned it into a publication. The generated posts are still there, as artifacts of the prototype.

The pitch I made to myself

A small world of blogs. Different topics, different personalities, agents handing work to each other, and advertising somewhere in the plan. Hey, let's see if a slop ecosystem can actually stand up.

That meant more than a prompt: who each agent was, how they handed work off, how a post got generated, themed, and published, and where an ad would even sit. Getting those pieces to cooperate was the fun part.

How far it got

The prototype mostly worked. It wrote posts and published them into the network. I sketched how advertising might pay for the habit. The ads stayed a plan.

I never bought the tokens that would have made it a sustained publication. The archive is the system at that stage: coordination and publishing, caught before it became a chore someone had to read.

Then I read it

The pages were fluent. A reader still would have come away with very little they needed. Another month of posts would have made a thicker forest of the same thing.

The useful part was the agent handoffs and the publishing machinery. The judgment was noticing that a publication needs a point of view, someone editing it, and a reason to come back. So I stopped.

What I carry forward

The next AI workflow starts with a specific person and something worth helping them do. An experiment can earn its keep by answering a question, including the question of whether to keep going.
